The name "Marlowepedia" originated during the project’s initial phase, as it was initially intended to be a wiki. Although the software has since changed, the concept remains the same, featuring interlinked individual pages. The left column of the page includes a search field and various categories to which the individual posts are assigned.
- Biography: This section encompasses everything related to Christopher Marlowe’s life and background.
- Works: This category details Marlowe’s literary creations.
- Reception: This explains how Christopher Marlowe and his works have been perceived since his death.
- Dramatis Personae: A listing of all the dramatic characters created by Christopher Marlowe.
- People: Contains short biographies relevant to Christopher Marlowe.
- Mythography: Dedicated to dispelling the myths, half-truths, and misinformation about Christopher Marlowe that have accumulated over the centuries.
Any confusion regarding dates is addressed here.
The detail of the contributions is limited to their relevance to Marlowe. For instance, under Canterbury, you will find a description of what the city looked like in Marlowe’s time rather than a comprehensive history of the city.
At the end of each article, you will find footnotes and the bibliographic data of the literature used unless already included in the bibliography. Some posts are still in development, and others may be short or incomplete. The condition will improve over time, but as this is a hobby project, progress may vary. Unless otherwise stated, all posts were written by me. All text and image citations are properly identified, comply with scientific citation rules, and serve a documentary function.
I welcome suggestions, improvement proposals, error tips, constructive criticism, and more via e-mail at any time.
